Lawrence and I had to make the terrible decision to have Sadie euthanized late last night.  We have dealt with her severe dog aggression for the last four years and spent countless amounts of money on vet bills to either fix her or Gia.  We tried to keep them separated but somehow they always manage to get in with each other.  Yesterday they got into a fight that caused Gia to have a severely lacerated ear and bottom jaw.  Sadie had a four inch flap of skin just hanging from her neck exposing muscle and tendon.  The fights just kept getting worse and thus the injuries were also getting worse.  As we drove Sadie to the vet, I knew we had to put her down.  No rescue would take her, no one would adopt her (and those that would, may not have her best interest at heart), the pound would definitely put her to sleep because she wouldn't pass the dog aggression test, we could keep her in complete isolation (which would kill her spirit).  We had to come to the hard resolution that this would be the best thing for everyone, especially Gia.  It kills me to have to decide to take a life!  Of course I know that it's the right thing, but I just feel so awful that we couldn't fix her to make her like other dogs, or at least tolerate them.  I will miss her gentle spirit with me, her laps around the yard and how she carried her squeaky ball around like a puppy.  Rest in Peace baby girl.
